SDOC Welcomes New Chief Finance Officer

At its regularly scheduled board meeting held on Monday, March 9, 2026, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Mrs. Brandi Runion as Chief Financial Officer.
Mrs. Runion joins the School District of Oconee County after nearly a decade with Anderson School District Five, where she currently serves as District Accountant. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University. In addition, she holds the Certified School Business Official designation from the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials.  Mrs. Runion also brings experience in local government, nonprofit, and school district auditing. She is active in her community and church. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy supporting their three children and can often be found cheering them on at games and activities on the court or the field.

Elementary STEAM Night Success

Our recent STEAM Night was a fantastic success, with a huge turnout of families and students eager to explore the worlds of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The halls were full of excitement as students took part in hands-on activities and discovered a variety of exciting career opportunities for their futures. We are grateful for the many community partners who volunteered their time and expertise to create such an informative experience for our elementary students.

World of Energy Art Show

Our annual art show was a great success this year. The venue was jam-packed with families and friends who came out to support our students and see their talent and hard work on display. We are very grateful to the World of Energy for hosting us and helping us celebrate our students' creativity with the whole community.
